Sathguru was the “Consulting Partner” for the Economic Times “Food processing and Packaging Summit” held at The Roseate, New Delhi during 6th and 7th of December, 2018.
Venu Gopal Chintada, Director, Sathguru Management Consultants and Partner, Innovation in Food & Agriculture Fund, was a panelist on the cross-segmental session converging corporate leaders from across the ecosystem – “Industry leaders’ Holistic Approach on Key Factors Driving the Processing and Packaging Landscape in India”. The panel comprised Mr. Ram Mohan Rao, COO, Mother Dairy Fruit and Vegetables Private Limited, Mr. Brig. JS Oberoi, CEO, LT Foods Limited, Mr. Mohit Anand, MD, Kellogg , Mr. Suresh Goel, CEO, Bikano (Bikanervala) , Mr. Viraj Bahl, Founder and MD, Veeba Foods and Subhod Jindal, President, Excelsior Food and Chemical Industries.
The panel discussed factors influencing the food processing ecosystem like shift from usefulness in processing to usefulness to consumers, packaging as a purchase influencer and communicator, product innovation as the key to business expansion, joint ventures and tie-ups, growth in food exports, change in consumer tastes and preferences et al. Drawing on depth of the panelists across facets of the industry, the panel also highlighted intricacies of agri and food value chains and its significance on business strategy. Srirama Manyam, Manager- Food Processing and Retail practice at Sathguru also presented on the complexities and key imperatives for success in the food processing business.
