\nThe camp was organized with a view to save those lives who are in dire need of blood but couldn\u2019t get access due lack of proper supply. It was overseen by a team of well-equipped and trained medical attendants and an enthusiastic Sankalp team who made all the necessary arrangements to ensure safety, hygiene and comfort of the donors. The initiative had more than 150 members participating including employees & ex-employees of Sathguru, volunteers from other companies, spouses, friends and family members of the employees apart from participants from all across the city.
\nThe blood collected from this initiative will be supplied for free to the patients suffering from Thalassemia, a rare genetic blood disorder which is carried by 4% of the population and children suffering from cancer.
\nSpeaking on the occasion Ms. Hemalatha Vijayaraghan, Founder and President of Sankalp said, \u201cEvery two seconds someone needs blood and yet our blood banks don\u2019t have enough supply.We at Sankalp, are excited in providing this opportunity to the donors to make a big difference in the lives of people right here at Sathguru. We are also planning to conduct this & health education initiatives at various locations & schools where Sankalp is supporting the education of girl children\u201d
