Sathguru - Ladies Day Out

It was the woman’s day-out and a men’s day-in for the 10 long hours. It was the gala time for the ladies of Sathguru family. An innovative trend in the corporate leisure system - the evergreen and effervescent ladies had a blast at Hotel Urvasi Residency, Secunderabad on Sunday, the 4th of September 2005.

The day started of with women of all ages numbering about 30 entering with a hackneyed expression of whether it is going to be like any other lady’s day-out – that which promises but never commits to fun-n-frolic. But much was changed and the ladies enjoyed every bit of teamwork and a special bond called friendship at the end of the day.

The great day began at 10 am as planned. As the ladies triggered in from every nook and corner of the city, Sathguru director Ms Hemalatha greeted them with her pleasant smile & warmth. Energized by the refreshments the group was divided into 4 teams with a captain assigned to each of them.

Soon, the ladies were informed of the hidden treasure in the hall .The next half-an-hour everyone was busy exploring each and every inch of the room in order to own the treasure. All of a sudden Ms Sarita yelled ‘there, the treasure is!!!’ But even before she could realize what was happening, Ms.Vijaya pounced on the treasure and dropped it into her purse. For Ms Sarita, it was a costly lesson for letting the cat out of the bag.

This was followed by several team games like replicating geometrical designs, Simon Says among others. Real fun started as the teams grouped and started competing with each other with a clear vision that their team should win. Every event & activity of the day revealed the special talents, creativity and intelligence of every individual present.

Wow! Yes. The guess is right. It’s the aroma of the delicious Lunch. Post-lunch was even more interesting since it was the time for the teams to push their scores ahead of each other .The competition grew even tougher with games like Nose Balls (transfer of cotton ball from one bowl to another bowl with the help of Vaseline on the nose tip), lemon balancing (carrying lemon under the chin), walking round the room balancing the huge twin-cities telephone directory on the head, etc.

As bouncing the tennis ball game ended, the score board displayed: Megastar team leading by 68 points, followed by Jasmine team with 50 points, Sania team with 40 points and Indira Gandhi team with 33 points.

The individual talent show was not only a gate way for the outburst of the hidden talents but also changed the digits on the scoreboard. The dance exploits of Ms Aparna Reddy to the rhythm of the beat, the flurry of jokes from Ms Sirisha sending every one into splits of laughter, the mono-acting skills of Ms Sarita and the melodic songs from Ms Deepa turned the tables around.

At the end of the day Megastar team was still leading with 87 points followed by Indira Gandi team with 66 points (a jump from last to second position), Jasmine team with 61 points and Sania team with 54 points.

Ms Vijaya, Ms Kameswari and Ms Srilakshmi also bagged a special prize for their excellent dance and choreography.

Mrs Chaitanya said, “It was so much fun. There were several games and great food. It was a time that I really enjoyed. I made lots of good friends during the meet. Another participant Mrs Mary Immaculate said, “Its an excellent event. I thoroughly enjoyed the Ladies Day Out and there are many memories to take back home”.

The events ended with a round of Tambola making the winners walk away with cash prizes & with the melody number Kabi Alvida Na Karna (you don’t say goodbye), from Ms.Mary.

Well, the Guys also had a gala time showering lots of love & affection, goodies etc. etc. and etc. with their kids (the other name for it is baby sitting). A rare opportunity which otherwise they would have missed – thanks to the Sathguru’s Ladies Day Out for giving them such a golden opportunity.
