Sathguru believes that as the public storage and distribution system for basic food moves gradually out of the Government control, appropriate infrastructure support needs to be created for post-harvest, warehousing, logistics and marketing of agri and food products.
Sathguru is engaged in advising State Government bodies, financial institutions and the corporate sector in identifying the needs for creation of basic and value added infrastructure for agri and food products storage, value addition and marketing.
Sathguru also supports the initiatives in creating appropriate common market mechanisms for pooling the agro products and thereby creating commodity exchanges. Sathguru also advises State enterprises and global ventures in creating common facilities for agri and food research and incubator facilities which can help development of innovative and marketable products in the agri and food sector.
Agri and Food Education
Sathguru believes that the stakeholders in the agri and food sector need complete re-skilling to adapt to modern strategies and operational practices in the agri and food sector.
Sathguru realises the need to provide strategic learning to the champions of the agri and food stakeholders and functional learning to the emerging leaders. In association with Cornell University, Sathguru brings together the champions of the agri and food sector who undergo this course for 8 days in an intensive manner. This Agri Business Management Program of Cornell University conducted in association with Sathguru attracts participants from best of the agri and food sector and is conducted once in 18 months. The program brings together all the Stakeholders, the Industry Executives, Researchers, Academic Faculty and the Heads of the Non-Government Bodies. The participants are exposed to best global practices and explore their relevance for their business in the regional context. The program brings participation from other Asian countries as well.
Sathguru partners with Norman Borlaug University of USA in providing customised and cost effective learning to the middle level and emerging executives, researchers, academic faculty and policy planners in providing continuing education in several sectors of agri and food business through the distance learning and personalised learning
modules.
Cornell University and Sathguru together convene an international symposium every year in a key location in India to focus on the biotechnology sector with extensive content on agri biotechnology. The Life Sciences stakeholders in the Asian region acclaim this program as the best educative program.
